We decided to show the damages of the wildfires occurring in California, specifically the Woolsey Fire.
Lead Editor / DP / Co-Producer
In a production team of four, we produced, shot, and edited a short documentary that highlights the personal experience of a member of the Southern California community that was affected by the fire.
To better display an intimate and personal experience with the Woolsey Fire, I edited while considering an emphasis on a neutral tone, using only captured sounds from the interview, and an emphasis on the landscape. With the IMAX format screening, the scale of the landscape makes immersion more vivid, further subjecting viewers to the aftermath of the Woolsey Fire.
